Choosing An Emergency Water Filter For Survival

Nearly everyone knows that they should prepare for the next big catastrophe that’s coming sooner or later to their area. The problem with that is it’s hard to know exactly what might happen, windstorm, earthquake, tsunami, chemical spill, or floods and each one will have its own particular dangers. There are, however, several common denominators that nearly every type of disaster will require, and that’s food and water. Those two staples you need every single day and you normally have on hand in your home daily as well, you just need to stash some for survival.  Depending on what happens in your imaginary upcoming emergency, a lot of the food you have in your home will survive. Even the things you have stored in the refrigerator will last a couple of days if you get them into the freezer portion and start eating them right away. Your canned goods will be fine, dried foods last a long time if kept in airtight containers, plus you can actually go for several days without food and be just fine.

An Emergency Survival Radio Is A Necessity When Disaster Strikes

Of course, everyone, young and old, big and small, should take the time to prepare themselves for the next big disaster or emergency that’s sure to come. It’s hard to predict exactly what might come your way, flood, hurricane, tornado, volcanic eruption, tsunami, or maybe an earthquake, but it’s coming. There is no place on the entire earth that is totally immune from all kinds of disasters and you never know when you might get hit with a double disaster, like Fukashima, an earthquake, which triggered a tsunami, which in turn caused the meltdown of a nuclear reactor. Plus, you never know when your preparedness will end up saving the life of someone you know and care for like a friend, relative, or neighbor. Part of being prepared is being able to listen to the local and nationwide emergency responders in order to know what’s happening, and where to get the help you need. For that, the best thing to do is have a survival radio designed just for that purpose.
