A scale is any set of musical notes ordered by fundamental frequency or pitch in music theory. A scale bought by increasing pitch is an ascending level, and a scale purchased by lessening pitch is a descending measure. Some scales include different pitches when rising than when descending, eg, the melodic small measure.
